Lux is a team of award-winning professional photojournalists and filmmakers with impressive experiences and a passion for telling stories through the art of photography and videography. With studios in New York, Miami and Montreal we specialize in professional photo and video coverage of weddings, engagements and special events locally and around the world. Our style combines the best elements of reportage, portraiture and social documentary, yielding results that seem effortless and expertly candid.

From our three studios in North America our wedding photographers will travel to destination weddings in the Caribbean, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Hawaii – our goal is to bring a photojournalistic, relaxed and fashion forward approach to wedding photography and wedding cinematography. We focus on creating photo and video images in an editorial, story telling manner, documenting the memorable moments in a truly artful way. Either shooting for the Martha Stewart’s Weddings Magazine or simply shooting for our own joy, on the busy streets of Manhattan or on a remote island in the Pacific, we always maintain a level of urban sophistication and rugged professionalism on par with New York’s best wedding photo studios.
We are often asked how we price our wedding photography and videography services for destination weddings, and after many years in business this is how we approach the subject matter.
We have our regular prices which are the same for our studios in New York, Miami and Montreal. For weddings outside of our studios’ coverage areas, we charge a travel fee. This travel fee varies upon destination, but in a nutshel it varies by region (East Coast, West Coast, Southern States, South America, Europe, Canada, Mexico and The Caribbean) and travel length. The travel fee is a way to compensate for the time we spend away from the studio. A destination wedding is not a one-day event the way most local weddings are. It could be a day of travel, plus the wedding, then another day or two of travel home. We need to ensure the costs (meals, incidentals, etc) we incur while on the road are completely covered, plus our time away from one of our studios.
In addition to our artistic fee, clients are responsible for paying the travel fee, roundtrip airfare, a rental car or adequate transportation, and hotel accommodations, preferably at the hotel where the bride is preparing for her wedding (which makes things much easier logistically).
We realize that there are many wedding photographers who lower their fees for destination wedding photography but this approach does not work for us – we enjoy our work a lot and love photographing destination weddings, and we like to have all our bases covered, and luckily, our clients feel the same way.
